The nursery was established in 1982 by Bernadette Tiernan, a State Registered Nurse in General and Paediatrics. It is a private day care centre, catering for children from 3 months to 12 years and comprises of a baby room, wobbler room, toddler room, 2 Pre-school classrooms and afterschool club.

 

Alphabet School is a limited company and trading as Tiernan’s Nursery. The directors are Bernadette Tiernan, Kenneth Tiernan and Denise Collins. Denise is the nursery manager and looks after the day to day running of the service. Bernadette now works more behind the scenes but is still very actively involved in the financial management and forward planning of the service.
